The Solution

The Bible shows us we are not capable of saving ourselves. Even though we try to be good, and do good, it will never be enough to justify our sin.

"But we are all as an unclean thing, and all our righteousnesses are as filthy rags; and we all do fade as a leaf; and our iniquities, like the wind, have taken us away."
Isaiah 64:6

"For whosoever shall keep the whole law, and yet offend in one point, he is guilty of all."
James 2:10

"For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast."
Ephesians 2:8-9

"Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me."
John 14:6

The good news is, Jesus loves you and died in your place that you may have eternal life.

"For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life."
John 3:16

"For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord."
Romans 6:23

"All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned every one to his own way; and the LORD hath laid on him the iniquity of us all."
Isaiah 53:6

"But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us."
Romans 5:8

"And he is the propitiation for our sins: and not for our's only, but also for the sins of the whole world."
1 John 2:2

"The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance."
II Peter 3:9
